Artist * Illustrator * Instructor
My name is Kylie Fowler, but my friends call me Kyles. You may know me as Kylie Pepyat-Fowler, as for many years I was reluctant to discard my maiden name.
I am a visual aritst currently based in the coastal town of Warrnambool, in Australia, where I live with my husband, 3 children and our array of animals, including the wildlife (koalas, kookaburras and echidnas, just to name a few) who frequent our property.
I started my career creating custom pencil and pastel pencil portraits, but after discovering mixed media have moved towards creating my mixed media, whimsical, big-eyed blissful girls. Beautiful female faces are the main feature in my work, with the focus being (as always) the eyes. I adore drawing expressive eyes and adorable faces.
I love to create beautiful, soulful eyes that capture your attention, but mostly I love to create artwork that makes you smile.
My aim is to show you how easy it is to draw, by encouraging you to play (like we did as children), to make a mess, to embrace mistakes and work through them. There are always ways to solve a creative problem. You just have to look at it creatively. It is through our mistakes that we learn. It is through not giving up that we achieve and build confidence; and it’s through this confidence that we enter ‘The Blissful Zone’, otherwise none as ‘the happy place’. You may also have heard it being described as ‘being in the zone’. =D
My love for sharing my passion (and throwing paint around) is evident in my online classes, my very first being created for Tamara Laporte’s online course, ‘Lifebook’, way back in 2012. Thank you Tam xo
My biggest wish is for you to trust the creative process, let you intuition take hold and take you on your own creative journey.
So what are you waiting for?
Join me on my creative journey, where I encourage you to follow your creative calling, follow your intuition and embrace the unexpected creative mishaps by bravely seeking possibilities.
